LOW E CEILING
Global Sport Resources use Reflectix brand for our Low E product to block the flow of radiant heat or infrared. The primary function of a Low Emissivity ceiling is to block radiant energy emitted from the ceiling structure.
Low E ceilings create a vapor barrier and thermal break, reducing condensation on the underside of the roof structure, preventing the ceiling from dripping onto the ice surface. This in turn, has the effect of reducing the heat load on the ice, thus reducing run time on the refrigeration system. This translates into energy savings and reduced maintenance costs on the system.
Many customers have also experienced a 40-50% increase in candle power at the ice level due to Low E being comprised of aluminum as it is a highly reflective material. Installing Low E will reduce the glare and shadows very effectively while reducing the lighting requirements.
The amount of heat that is radiated onto the ice surface is directly decided by the EM of your arena ceiling materials. Thus, reducing the EM of your arena ceiling will have a large impact on the heat load to your ice plant. Greatly reducing costs and providing better ice conditions in many ways.
By installing a Low-E ceiling in your facility you are:

By installing a Low-E ceiling in your facility you are:
- Reducing the UV ray penetration to your facility and ultimately creating better efficiency of your refrigeration system.
- Creating an “attic” space to create the thermal break to allow for proper air movement and reduce heat/cold loss.
